Blueberry Hill Farm
Our kids have enjoyed picking blueberries on this Meyer Family Farm for several summers. It is far from any roads, quiet and peaceful. Blueberry bushes provide ample shade and are big enough for even adults to take refuge under them. Berries include several varieties and are delicious.
Driving time: about 20 minutes. Open July 15 to October 5.

Grafton Village Cheese Factory
Grafton Village Cheese Co. is best known for its cheddar. Visitors can observe cheese making process through glass windows. Gift shop. Bring a picnic, explore a nearby covered bridge and easy paths winding towards Grafton Village along large grassy pastures. Kids will enjoy feeding cows and sheep and locating frogs and tadpoles in a small pond.

Directions: in Springfield bear right at McDonald's along Rt. 11E, proceed until bank & cinema on your left, turn left after cinema, take left at the fork (steep uphill), pass by cemetery, follow signs to Cherry Hill Farm.

Merck Forest and Farmland Center
Working farm with a mission to teach sustainable forest and farmland management. Stop by the visitors center. Explore the farm, its crops, its animals and farming practices. Stop by the sugar house. Admire unbelievable views for miles around! Traverse hiking and nature trails (ask for a map). Bring your own food if you plan to spend a full day.
Driving time: 50 minutes. Open year-round dawn to dusk.
Directions: take Rt.30 to Dorset. In Dorset turn left into Rt. 315 (Rupert Rd). After about 2.5 miles the road will crest a hill, Merck Forest sign will be on your left.
